My family and I spent two great weeks in Hawaii in 1997.  I was a bit afraid when the suggestion came that we ride a bicycle 28 miles down the side of Haleakala Crater (Volcano)!  I just didn't know if I could do it.  With the assurances of my husband and daughters that if something went wrong they would stay with me, away we went!   I made it fine, had the time of my life (It was all downhill.   I didn't have to pedal at all), saw the most fantasitic scenery and   - best of all - rode a bike again!  It can be done.   Sometimes we just have to say, "I'll try again."  Guess what?  I'm headed back again in July, '99.  I'll bring back a report!!
